Educational Blogging. Stephen Downes

I agree with Stephen where he states that in order to control our own learning network we have to be self-directed. I know that for me being in the OLIT Master’ program at UNM its because I was looking for a degree that would allow me to pursue technology and instruction in learning. Now that I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel I have to put that learning into use and create learning for some else. But is it really learning if I seek information from Web 2.0 forum just for knowledge sakes? I mean can I construct what I read from a blog into learning? In watching and listening to his video most everything he talks about is about choice of information. Web 2.0 has allowed us to choose what we want to learn and it is upon that information in which we build our foundation for constructing learning. I think social networking in instruction, education and learning environments allows for more knowledge sharing to occur than traditonal classroom settings. Great video.
